A hand-painted illumination inspired by antique Central Asian Suzani decoration, historically associated with ceremonial textiles and domestic ornament. The composition features repeating floral medallions arranged in a balanced and rhythmic field, reflecting the symbolic language and structured harmony characteristic of traditional Suzani design.

Set against a luminous gold leaf ground, the ornament is rendered with controlled precision and fine detailing, translating textile-based motifs into a manuscript-inspired format. The interplay of pattern, surface, and light creates a sense of depth and quiet richness, while preserving the historical essence of the original design tradition.

Each piece is executed with meticulous attention to detail, offering a distinctive interpretation of Central Asian decorative heritage through the medium of illumination.

The work is executed on Yokono Washi Pure Gampi - a handcrafted mulberry-based Japanese paper from Hariko, known for its silk-like surface and exceptional durability. The sheet has been further polished with an agate stone, enhancing its smoothness and allowing the gold leaf and pigments to achieve remarkable clarity, depth, and subtle radiance.

Materials: Fine gold leaf, tempera, acrylic, and liner on handcrafted Yokono Washi (Pure Gampi) mulberry paper, agate-polished.
